SOUTH BURLINGTON POLICE CAREERS
PURSUE YOUR PASSION
The South Burlington Police Department is more than a group of individual officers. We are a family. Small enough to have each other's backs, in and out of work, yet large enough to have all the opportunities while on the clock.
While we operate as a close knit group, the South Burlington Police Department is one of the largest police agency in the state. Our size gives our officers unique opportunities to participate in several specialized assignments.
Let's face it. Life is not all about work. Vermont and Chittenden County have so much to offer on your days off. Outdoor activities, festivals, and so much more are available right at your fingertips.
On the shores of Lake Champlain, South Burlington, the second largest city in Vermont, is home to 19,000 residents and boasts a vibrant, active, engaged community. Our nearly 30 square miles of patrol responsibility, which balloons to almost 45,000 people during the day, encompasses a variety of opportunities for the motivated officer to excel as a patrol officer or in a specialized unit such as Detectives, K-9, Youth Services or Traffic Safety as a Motor Officer.
Benefits of working and living in the South Burlington area extend far beyond our comprehensive benefits package and include access to a wealth of nearby outdoor activities, shopping, festivals, educational, volunteer and service opportunities and much more.
